Membership Undertaking & Acceptance Declaration

This Membership Undertaking and Acceptance Declaration (“Undertaking”) is a legally binding agreement between the undersigned individual (“Member”) and British Learning, the governing and administering body of the British Learning Research Council (BLRC).

This Undertaking governs the terms of appointment, conduct, representation, and engagement of the Member within the BLRC framework.

1. Mode of Acceptance & Binding Effect
This Undertaking shall be deemed valid, binding, and enforceable upon the occurrence of any one or more of the following actions by the Member:
  • Clicking “I Agree”, “I Accept”, or any similar acceptance mechanism on any digital platform operated by or on behalf of BritishLearning.UK;
  • Submitting, uploading, or sharing personal, academic, professional, biographical, or research-related information for the purpose of creating, updating, or maintaining a BLRC micro-website or profile;
  • Making payment, in whole or in part, of BLRC Membership Fees or any related charges;
  • Continuing to access, use, or represent association with the British Learning Research Council after receipt or publication of this Undertaking.

Such actions shall constitute clear, informed, and voluntary consent and shall be treated as conclusive evidence of acceptance, without the requirement of a physical or digital signature, in accordance with the Indian Contract Act, 1872 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The Member expressly waives any objection to the enforceability of this Undertaking on the grounds that it is electronic, unsigned, or accepted through conduct.

2. Nature of Membership
The Member acknowledges and agrees that:
  • Membership of the BLRC is a selective academic appointment to a prestigious research council;
  • Such membership does not constitute employment, consultancy, partnership, agency, joint venture, or representation of BritishLearning.UK;
  • No employer–employee, fiduciary, or commercial relationship is created by virtue of BLRC membership.
3. No Business, Income, or Engagement Assurance
The Member expressly understands and accepts that:
  • British Learning makes no assurance, commitment, or representation regarding:
    • Any fixed or minimum number of mentorship engagements;
    • Any guaranteed income, honorarium, or business opportunity;
    • Any continuity, volume, or frequency of academic work.

Any mentorship or academic engagement, if at all, arises solely through independent student choice, subject to academic suitability and availability.

4. Student Autonomy & Non-Influence
The Member confirms that:
  • British Learning does not assign, recommend, influence, compel, or prioritise any Council Member for student selection;
  • Selection of mentors is entirely student-led and based on topic alignment, academic background, and suitability;
  • The Member shall not claim, imply, or represent that BritishLearning.UK endorses, promotes, or guarantees their selection by students.
5. Mentorship Fee Cap – Quality Control Measure
The Member confirms that:
  • The aggregate annual mentorship honorarium cap of INR 9,00,000 (Rupees Nine Lakhs only) is imposed solely as an academic quality-control and ethical safeguard;
  • The cap represents a maximum permissible threshold, not an entitlement;
  • The cap does not imply minimum earnings, assured engagements, or business guarantees.
6. Status Limitation & Non-Misrepresentation
The Member undertakes that they shall:
  • Represent themselves only as a Member of the British Learning Research Council;
  • Not misrepresent BLRC membership as:
    • A professional licence, registration, certification, or accreditation;
    • A statutory, regulatory, medical, or clinical authorisation;
    • An endorsement or guarantee by BritishLearning.UK for any service or outcome.
Any direct or indirect misrepresentation may result in immediate suspension or termination of membership without refund.
7. QR-Verified ID Card – Limited Purpose
The Member acknowledges that:
  • The QR-code–enabled BLRC ID Card is issued solely for third-party verification of Council membership status;
  • The ID Card:
    • Is not a professional identity card;
    • Is not a licence, practice card, registration card, or authority document;
    • Confers no independent professional, clinical, or legal standing.

The ID Card shall not be used for solicitation, marketing, client acquisition, or representation of professional authority.

8. Academic Scope & Disclaimer Acceptance
The Member acknowledges that:
  • Academic guidance
  • Research synthesis
  • Scholarly review and validation
  • Structured research mentorship
The Member shall not conduct or imply clinical practice, patient interaction, diagnostic or therapeutic services, clinical trials, or experimental research under BLRC membership.
9. Platform Structure & Content Changes
The Member understands and accepts that:
  • British Learning may modify platform layout, data fields, metadata, visibility formats, or content structure from time to time;
  • Such changes may be required to align with evolving international academic, repository, publication, or indexing-related standards;
  • No representation is made regarding current or future indexing unless explicitly stated in writing.
10. Accuracy & Authenticity Disclaimer
The Member acknowledges that:
  • British Learning does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or authenticity of any information displayed on BLRC platforms;
  • The Member remains independently responsible for the correctness of information submitted by them.
11. Breach, Suspension & Termination

British Learning reserves the right to suspend or terminate BLRC membership, remove profiles, credentials, or visibility, and take corrective action in the event of breach, misuse, or misrepresentation, without prior notice where necessary to protect institutional integrity.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Undertaking shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.

Members have the option of submitting their Research Paper on the, “British Learning Global Repository”. However this is not a grantee and sunject to Publication guidelines. Publication takes at least 3 months from date of Research Paper

By accepting, submitting information, making payment, or continuing association, the Member confirms full understanding and unconditional acceptance of this Undertaking.
